Skyclan
CAMP | The Skyclan camp is confined in a ravine found on the Southeast part of the territories the new clans now inhabit. The steep walls of the ravine are littered in caves and ledges that the Skyclan cats use as dens and modes of transportation, and keep the clan safe by making if difficult for outsiders to navigate. The bottom of the ravine has a large platform for cats to gather when the leader calls a meeting, and it connects to several dens as well. |
Dens
Leader's
Den
Den
The leader's den is behind the Tiny Mountain, the call-place for the leader to gather their clan. The den is on the far side, and is a cave surrounded by lichen, with the entrance being a path down near the river at the bottom of the ravine, that leads up into the den itself. The path is thin, and rocky, and is only wide enough for one cat. The den itself has a tiny entrance for protection, and also has a cave in the rear in case of instances where cats need to be protected, and a small boulder to roll into place to block out any attackers. |
Medicine Cat's
Den
Den
The Medicine cat den in Skyclan is in a cave at the bottom of the ravine, connected to the largest, flattest platform in the camp. It's in a cave, with a section of the ravine's river branching off and flowing into a pool at the entrance of the den. The large cave has several nests to house sick clanmates, and there's a large crack in the cave wall next to the pool that opens into a cracked cave large enough for 5 cats maximum to be inside, with shelf-like dips in the uneven walls for herb storage. |
Warrior's
Den
The warriors den is also a cave, though it's closer to the entrance to the camp. The cave's opening is right at the entrance to the camp, up on a slight ledge both looking over where the entrance spills out to the bottom of the ravine, and the ledge where the fresh-kill pile rests. The den itself is very large, and the ceiling extends all the way up to the surface above, with a hole that allows light to filter into the den. under the hole, a small dip has been eroded, where, when it rains, fresh water pools in the dip, and the cats have piled little rock walls around it to keep the water contained when the dip overflows. Nests are built on wide elevated platforms around the edges of the cave, and the lowered areas closest to the dip in the center are where warriors can stay in the den and socialize with one another. |
Apprentices'
Den
The apprentices' den is in another cave, right next to the warrior's den, this one slightly smaller. The cave also has raised platforms around, but they're mostly in the back, with the front and entrance where the apprentices can gather together and share news. The cave is lit up from the entrance, and it overlooks the same things the warriors' den does, the fresh-kill pile and the entrance to the camp. |
Nursery
The Nursery is the most guarded den in the camp, situated between the warriors' den and the apprentices' den, the only entrance into the nursery is a thin crack in the ravine wall between the two dens. The crack opens into a spacious cave, with brambles over the entrance on the inside that can be pushed aside by a small stick located in the corner of the entrance. The stick is hard to locate unless you know about it, but this small security measure keeps larger predators and enemy invaders away from some of the most vulnerable cats in the clan. |
Elders'
Den
The Elders' den is the second most protected den in the camp, with the entrance protected with thick brambles, only leaving a gap enough for one cat to fit through. The brambles have strong logs and rocks stacked behind the brambles to keep them in place in an attack. The cave itself is large and roomy, with large dips for nests, and plenty of room for stretches to keep stiffness away. There is a tunnel from the Elders' den to the Medicine Cats' den so no emergencies will keep them separated. |
Territory Markers
Tiny Mountain
Tiny Mountain is the spot where the leader gathers the clan for meetings. Although it's called "Tiny Mountain," it's not even close to a mountain, in fact, it's more of a ledge with a large pile of rocks under it, on the backside of which is the leader's den. The ledge is reached by climbing the pile, and overlooks the largest ledge in the clan, where the medicine cats' pool is sourced, and where there is the largest surface area for the clan to all gather together. |
Sharp Rocks
Almost the opposite of the Sunning Rocks from the old forest in the books, Sharp Rocks are on the edge of Shine Rocks, and are a patch of sharp-edged rocks that connect Skyclan territory with both Swiftclan's territory and Silverclan's territory. Snakes reside here, so cats don't usually go here, and there isn't much prey here. |
Lightless Woods
The Lightless Woods is a heavily pine wooded area which provides most of the clan's food. Cat's mostly hunt here, and the woods themselves are primarily pine trees, with spruce and a few oaks scattered around as well. This forest makes invasion from this border, with Kestrelclan, is nearly impossible, especially if Skyclan cats catch invaders. Cats of the clan are taught the best way to fight in the heavily wooded area, and can effectively fight and hunt in the area, and apprentices are sent to these woods most often for their assignments before being made warriors. |
Prey
Frogs, Crows, Mice, and other forest prey-animals are mostly the prey, along with fish from the lake, and the occasional rabbit from the clearings in the territory. |
