Once he was trained by a Windclan cat, his father, and closest friend, pulled away from him, leaving him hesitant and uncertain about a lot of things. He puts on a front around others, one of pride and confidence, and cool flirtation, but under all of those fake covers, he's just slightly frightened and very much alone. He has trouble connecting to others, so he opts to having a lot of cats that he barely knows, but like his shell, rather than let very many in. He hates it when others get under his fur, and he hates it when he's proven wrong, it makes him vulnerable, so he does everything perfectly, making no mistakes. He's almost compulsive about it, and has a slightly severe case of OCD, which helps keep him from trouble. Pinekit was born halfway through the great journey to the new territories, to a former Shadowclan tom named Ivyclaw, and a kittypet who joined up with the clan cats when they started out, since her home had been destroyed in the destruction of the forest. His parents, despite their odd way of showing affections to one another, didn't do anything wrong with his kithood, in fact, they spoiled him and his two sisters more than they probably should have, doting more on him because he was the only tom born in the litter. When he was six moons, Pinekit was named Pinepaw and given to Juniperfrost, a Windclan queen, to be trained, since his hind legs were built, but he was still scrawny, leading the cats to believe that he would be adapt, if not very proficient, at catching quick prey like hares. This infuriated Ivyclaw, who wanted all his kits trained by Shadowclan cats, and his former clanmates. However, since he didn't have the retort that they were pureblood Shadowclan, he had to bite his tongue. This drove him from his son, and the more that Pinepaw trained with Juniperfrost, the more and more his father drew away. In the middle of his training, Juniperfrost got killed falling from some rocks, and after a short vigil for her, Pinepaw was given to a tom of Shadowclan decent named Hawkheart, making his father much happier, which frustrated Pinepaw. The young tom respected Hawkheart, but kept his respectful distance, not letting him fill the hole that the sweet personality of Juniperfrost had left behind completely. He did enjoy the company of Hawkheart, but remained kept to himself throughout the rest of his apprenticeship. At 17 moons of age, Pinepaw was made a warrior by the four "leaders" of the conjoined clans. He was made a warrior by his father's former leader, and given the name Pinesting, for his biting personality, and his habit of quickly lashing out like a sting, at anyone who had an issue with him or his family. When he turned 35 moons of age, the cats had started sending out patrols to scout the areas they had found, and Ivyclaw accompanied a group of his former clanmates. On the way back to the group, in leafbare, the group had to cross a frozen pond, that was fairy deep, but frozen over. Everyone but Ivyclaw got across safely, the latter falling through the ice in the middle and drowning, devastating his mate and kits, and leaving them alone. He chose Skyclan, mainly because of his father's heritage, but also because he loved hunting in the trees, and he knew most of the cats who were to make up the clan. Nowadays, he has adopted a flirty side, and doesn't much care for borders, refusing to accept that the clans are separated again, like they were in the stories he was told as a kit. | |||||||||
