I'm Queen of the dead and the damned i came, i saw, i conquered. Welcome to hell, everyone Reaper was busy as always, even more so now, since her gang had been flooded with new members, refugees from the escaping clans that didn't feel like they fit in with the six clans that settled. She personally didn't blame them, she wouldn't fit in with the clans either. A part of her told her they;d frown upon her... less than painless way of dealing with traitorous acts, and she was positive that the cats had heard of her habit of just simply killing cats that back stabbed her, rather than banish them, as was the clan protocol. Some code they stuck to like glue, only to find out in certain situations, the code is what is killing them.
Her dry inner voice rolled over her mind, washing over her thoughts as she shuffled through some old twoleg papers strewn about her makeshift meeting round-table she used to gather her higher ranked cats. She had plans today, surprisingly, and the twoleg junk was bothering her mind, even if she could only read bits a pieces of it halfway decently from moons and moons of exposure to the creatures. She sighed heavily, shaking her head again, making her neck crack and driving negative thoughts from her mind. She had a meeting with her new deputy Sylvester today, and she needed every bit of her wits about her to deal with the tom.
Fatigue had gripped her the last few days. Between dealing with the new city clan called Riftclan and their leader, an old mangy tom named Witheredstar, and dealing with the news that a wide-scale twoleg attack was very seriously a possibility, she was just tired.
The reddish black shecat looked out of the windows of her tall den, her single greenish yellow eye shining with authority and secure power. She knew the rumors that swirled around her being like a heavy black mist, and she was well equipped to prove every single one of them right, if need be. She didn't want to have to, but the possibility was there, and she wouldn't hesitate to back them up with actions rather than words. She didn't get her seat by birth and heritage, and most of the stories, while a bit overzealous with age, were very startlingly true. Horrors followed the shecat like a dark cloak, and she was aware that her shadow was miles long with the death she had caused, her paws stained with the fountain of blood she had personally drained. She looked out of the window again, missing her old deputy. Crow hadn't cared for her history, although his sister was unfavorable, no one was fooled by her horrible intentions, and they had left. Reaper had no clue what had become of her deputy, but she knew she'd eventually find someone open enough to deal with her... quirks, like Crow had. Dune did to an extent, but the massive sand-cat was more of her brawn, despite his massive intelligence. She valued his opinions to a fault, but he was often by her side for the sake of guarding the gang leader, not provide diplomatic advice.
In the middle of her thinking, suddenly a younger cat in her gang came into the room quietly, his body shaking with fear and respect. She saw him in the reflection cast on the glass, and her shoulders sagged. She hated being feared, and she tried to make her freakishly scarred face as kind as possible when she turned to him, the softest expression she could muster showing up.
"What is it?"
She asked softly, making the tom jump and look up, eyes wide.
"It's the new deputy, Sylvester! He's here to see you!"
The tom squeaked the words out before scrambling back, making Reaper straighten her short stature out, and let out a soft chuckle.
"You have nothing to fear, child. I will not hurt you unprovoked."
She sighed out the words, and the tom nodded hastily, before escaping. She rolled her eyes slightly, before following at a slower pace, poking her head through the twoleg drapes covering the entrance to her floor of the massive structure.
"Yes, Sylvester? You're early. Do you need something?"
She asked briskly, pushing the cloth aside to allow him entry, keeping an eye on him. She missed Crow, sure, but she was glad to be rid of his sister, and Sylvester made a fine deputy, loyal, full of conviction, and he understood where his loyalties lied, and who was truly in charge of the city. Maybe they weren't that close yet, and Reaper, always slow to trust, was still a bit wary of him, but she felt like once they worked out their issues, they'd be a very good team, and she looked forward to working with him. |

I'm Queen of the dead and the damned i came, i saw, i conquered. Welcome to hell, everyone "I do not need anything, but thought I'd report on my interactions with some Riftclan warriors this morning."
Her reddish black ears twitched to catch his soft voice, and the leader nodded, following him back into the sprawling floor of the scraper she called home. The expanse had twoleg furniture--old pieces as well as new stuff they'd just picked up on patrol--sprawled across the rooms, and she nodded to the two toms that were in the corner, using their larger statures to lift up another trophy onto one of her many bookshelves.
"You two can leave. Thank you both for the help you've provided, but I must speak with Sylvester. In private."
She said calmly, waving her half-tail at the door with a brisk flick as she padded across the floor silently, passing her nest, a large, shallow, intricately designed box filled with pillows and all sorts of other twoleg soft items. She didn't even sigh at it, opting to move across the room to where plush couches and chairs stood tall, as old as when they found the building. These were too heavy to move, but she had managed to shift them about a bit, rearranging them slightly to face the massive wall of windows that swallowed up one entire wall of the grand suite.
Reaper jumped onto one of the large couches, landing softly and maintaining her balance while the furniture wobbled slightly, before relaxing into the plush. Nodding to the other couches, she looked at her deputy pointedly, silently telling him to join her. When he had, she watched the rest of the members in the gang leave, before turning her attention to Sylvester fully.
"So, you mentioned that you had interacted with one of the clans this morning? Riftclan was it? Their mangy leader has been a thorn in my side since they bothered to show up."
She spat the last sentence crossly, closing her eye and pressing a paw to her temple for a second. She sighed before reopening her eye and focusing it back on Sylvester, a slight frown marring her peaceful expression.
"I hate trouble. Especially when it comes from idiotic clan cats who only want to steal our land for themselves."
She hissed out, shaking her head again, before once more, for a third time, fixing her deputy with a look.
"So, did you have to fight? Or was it just the usual pleading for more land?"
She kept her body relaxed, and her attention on Sylvester. She couldn't let her health be even more affected by stress if she wanted to be able to lead this gang for a long while yet. She had really hoped for a really good report, so she would possibly be able to get out of this dingy scraper, but she was almost positive that whatever Sylvester was about to report, would be less than favorable with her. She watched him closely, waiting on a reply with a patience she didn't afford many. She knew the tom didn't like speaking, but she needed to hear this in words, not just body language.

I'm Queen of the dead and the damned i came, i saw, i conquered. Welcome to hell, everyone "There was no pleading for land like there usually is, however they did get upset with me for hunting near their border. I did not cross it, however much I wanted to, but I knew they were nearby. We almost got in a fight, but one of the warriors, a she-cat, pretty young too I believe, made the rest of her patrol back down. Something about every cat needing to eat, and there had been no harm done. I followed behind them after they left, but none strayed into our territory. They seem to follow a Warrior Code, I think that's what they called it."
Reaper nodded, scowling gently. The clans had been getting awfully defensive of the borders recently, and the gang leader didn't like it one bit. It made her skin itch and crawl with how much they demanded of her group, when they hadn't been here but for two moons collectively, counting the half-moon it took them to even debate leaderships and other crucial things. Personally she preferred the gang's way of doing it, but then again she could just be biased towards her gang of cats.
The leader puffed out a long breath of air, her exhale noisy and irritated, but also tired. She rolled her eyes and shook her head, very obviously angry at the audacity and actions of the clanners... but at least it was only Riftclan at the moment, and not the other two, Pondclan and Silverclan.
She situated herself on the cough and took a deep breath, grateful that Sylvester had gotten comfortable enough around her to talk that much. Communication was in important part of their relationship and leading the gang, and it was crucial that they have even a shread of trust in one another.
"It was probably that mangy deputy of theirs, Dovefrost, that confronted her clanmates. I respect that she knows when to say no to a fight, but she's just as meddlesome and nosy as that old timer Witheredstar is. Hell, I'm surprised that old coot isn't dead already, though I've heard whispers that he's dying... Anyway, I'm glad it wasn't anything unusual, but I'm still appalled at the audacity of them, getting angry at you for hunting on lands that we've been holding onto for generations. It just... Nevermind, that's not a big issue. At least you weren't attacked like I was the last time I was near the border. Some crazy hothead apprentice thought that because I wasn't as big as his mentor I'd be easy to take down. He payed the price, and I'm glad that they at least see a shred of sense now."
She nodded to him before sighing again, a hopeful glint that that was everything he had to report swelling in her chest and eyes, and she asked another question.
"Anything else? I should hope nothing within the gang, but you know I haven't been able to mingle with the gang due to... business with these new groups."
She frowned slightly, and gave Sylvester a careful look, judging any minute changes in his expression that would be caused by her question. Tags: @echo | Words: 521 |

I'm Queen of the dead and the damned i came, i saw, i conquered. Welcome to hell, everyone "A couple of small things, such as the prey levels near the borders with the clans are beginning to dwindle, not horribly, but enough for me to notice. Otherwise, within the gang, the only thing I've heard about is a possibility of somecat stealing. I've noticed this a few times as well, I've had some prey I had stashed go missing."
She nodded, grateful for him letting her see his expressions without a veil. She fell silent once his words were in between them, letting his voice rest. She knew the tom usually never talked so much, so she didn't want to prod him with too many questions, but she was extremely grateful that he was willing to answer her questions she did present him.
She bit her lip, flicking her gaze out the window. 'A thief, huh? I wonder who feels they're going so hungry that stealing will get them what they "need"...' she wondered inside her head, her gaze drifting down to the camp far below them, her gangmates looking almost as small as ants from the top of the huge building the two currently occupied.
She felt her deputy's carefulness around her, and couldn't fault him for worrying. She hadn't exactly taken the most gentle route to leadership, and she wasn't known to show mercy where it wasn't deserved, so she had done some gruesome things in her short leadership of the gang. Some of which she wasn't entirely proud of, but she felt had to be done. Sighing softly, she pressed a forepaw to her temple roughly, closing her eye and tightening her eyelid before letting her eye slide open and flick up to Sylvester, heavyness sitting on her form that she would have to ask him to set up spys to find this cat.
"I wan't you to organize a group of cats to keep a night watch on all prey, and another to keep a day watch on the prey. We have to catch this cat, otherwise the problem will grow, and then I'll have to lead the hunt, and that never ends well."
Her voice was tired and resigned, but determined, and she flicked her gaze from her deputy's eyes to the camp below, another soft sigh escaping her lips. Tags: @echo | Words: 377 |

I'm Queen of the dead and the damned i came, i saw, i conquered. Welcome to hell, everyone "I'll get started right away. Is there anycat specific you would like me to include, or not include?"
She nodded again gently, and rolled her eyes up to the ceiling in thought. She trusted most, if not all, of her gang members with her life, but she had some reservations about a few of them, especially the newer ones, and the younger ones."Please include Dune, yourself, Jigsaw, Firefly, and Phantom somewhere in the mix. Hazelnut can be included as well, but she'd be better off with Dune or Firefly, someone who can keep her tied down to her post. I don't want to put that extra stress on you. You may choose whomever else you please, though do me a favor and keep Echo and Crow from even knowing a drop about this plan. I have a feeling Echo is in on it. And while I like your predecessor as a friend, he can't be trusted with his sister's influence buzzing around his ears like a nasty bee. I hope, for both of our sakes, that you don't end up with someone like her and let them influence your decisions. I have faith that you won't, but I'm just voicing these minor concerns now rather than later."Her tone was calm, but stern, and the sharp spark in her eyes glowed as she lowered them to meet the steady gaze of her current deputy. She shouldn't be this wary of conflict and anarchy in her gang this early on, but she was, and she wouldn't deal with any more betrayal well. She licked a paw and drew it over her forehead, before glancing at the swaying curtains. Someone had heard at least part of their conversation, and could be reporting back to whoever was causing all the conflict in the gang. Hissing, she jumped to her feet, waving her half tail stiffly for Sylvester to follow before darting out the door like a flash, lean muscles rippling below her reddish-black coat.
