Silverclan
CAMP | Much like the old-forest camp of Thunderclan, the Silverclan camp is set up beneath a tangle of brambles that form walls, and a thick canopy of oak trees to shade them. The camp's walls have been reinforced with cut brambles from other vines, and fallen sticks found around the forest, the clan having woven both into the naturally-growing walls to make it much harder for intruders to invade. The camp entrance is a paw-made tunnel near the Moon Stone, and the dens are carefully placed to get the most protection out of the smaller camp space they have. |
Dens
Leader's
Den
Den
Situated behind the Moons Stone, the Leader's den is fashioned out of a holly bush, with brambles and limbs woven in for more protection against invaders and the natural disasters that the new territory is prone to. When the leader needs to escape quickly, a tunnel next to their den leads to a large underground cave that the cats have dug out, and that cave has another tunnel leading out of the camp from the side. The Leader's den was put nearby so they could keep a close eye on the entrance, and prevent any sneaking apprentices or warriors from leaving camp unnoticed. |
Medicine Cat's
Den
Den
The medicine cat den is under a pile of rocks, with a small tunnel leading to the roomy space. A shallow well is in this den, providing the working and wounded with a spring-fed source of fresh water to drink, clean wounds, or simply provide for the clan. The medicine cat has a smaller crevice with small divots in the ground to act like containers for herbs, and their nest is situated right outside the herb storage, with the injured cat nests being located on the opposite wall, where the cave is more roomy and there is more space. |
Warrior's
Den
Made out of a clump of thick bushes, the warriors den was dug out a bit to make it larger, so to fit the growing population of the clan. It has smaller divots in closely placed areas around the den for nests, and three places where warriors can comfortably come and go, with the entrance at the front being the largest and easiest to slip in and out of. The warriors' den is located right next to the fresh kill pile and entrance to the camp. This allows them to be the first cats to meet any intruders or curious passerbys when they feel threatened, and keeps as many adversaries from reaching their clanmates. |
Apprentices'
Den
Much like Pondclan's nursery, The apprentices' den for Silverclan is a small dug out hollow the cats made and covered with thick oak branches and leaves when they ran out of available places to make dens. The nests are in divots dug out of the bottom of the hollow, and the whole area is actually quite roomy. It is located near the warriors' den and the entrance, so the apprentices can quickly aid in a fight if needed. |
Nursery
The nursery was dug out of a rock, a small entrance below the large stone making it difficult for anything larger than a pregnant shecat to get through. This den was made huge, large enough to fit most of the clan if need-be, for that factor of it being hard to get into. The den has small hollows in the ground along the edges for nests, and a small well in the middle, that the clanners found while digging out the nursery. Cats believe this well and the medicine cat's are connected underground, but there is no proof of anything other than they;re both spring-fed. |
Elders'
Den
The elder's den is located in the very back of camp, one of the most protected spots. The elders are set up in a dead log of a great tree that fell onto Silverclan's camp a great while ago. Today, it provides roomy and comfortable shelter for the Elders by giving them shade and a constant breeze due to the open space being basically a wind tunnel. |
Territory Markers
Greak Oak Forest
The Great Oak Forest covers about 90% of Silverclan's territory, and provides them with nearly as much prey. The forest also provides a wonderful place to let apprentices practice climbing without the fear of falling and hurting themselves, and provides shade for those with dark pelts as they go out hunting. Overall, the forest is the main provider for Silverclan. |
Training Hollow
The Training Hollow is a dusty spot where the plants have been killed, that is connected to the camp's escape route via the fact that the escape tunnel is a few fox lengths from the hollow. You have to push through thick brambles to get to it, but the roomy area provides more than enough space for training of all sorts. The trees surrounding provide ample space for ambush training, and the surrounding smaller bushes allow mentors to teach their apprentices how to hunt in cover. |
Shine Rocks
Most comparable to the Sunning Rocks from the old forest in the books, Shine Rocks are a part of the territories most often fought over. Brushing the territories of both Silverclan and Lightningclan, the ideal spot for both relaxation and all forms of hunting is the cause of the ever-shifting border between the two clans. Border skirmishes over Shine Rocks are the most common type of battle between the two clans, and even though the rocks sit on Lightningclan territory, really, Silverclan can get on the edge of them without crossing the border, which is the main cause of the fighting. |
Willow Forest
The willow forest is full of black willow trees and is slightly more open than the oak forest that covers 90% of the territory on the opposite side. It makes up the northwestern border and connects to Pondclan territory, right where the trees begin to thin to almost nothing. This area has more variation in tree size, from small to tall and several rocky hills cover this area or small rolling hills from time to time, further showing how close it is to the Moorlands. The River Oasis resides in its depths and a few smaller black willow trees are seen growing in the deep cut of land. A small river runs through here, starting from the northern side of the Willow Forest, where Silverclan territory reaches Great Bear Lake. This part of the territory also extends into the more open area. |
Prey
Mice, Voles, and Squirrels are the most hunted prey that Silverclan goes for. However, if the clan is desperate, they are also trained to fish in their part of the lake, and most are at least adapt at this skill. |
Credit goes to @tundra for coming up with the Willow Forest for me.
