Lilystar It had been a few moons since Lilystar could remember leading a patrol herself. Normally she found herself busy with things going on in their territory and having to handle problems on the border when it seemed a matter her warriors and apprentices couldn't handle without a problem. She always felt like she was doing something, helping her clanmates even when it might be a task below her position. But, she knew better than to allow herself to seem isolated from her clanmates entirely. She was still a warrior, just with a different title and different name, nothing more nothing less.
To start the occasion that nothing else required her immediate attention she had decided to lead a hunting patrol herself, deciding to choose the cats herself this time rather than her deputies doing so. She had chosen about four to five cats to come along, one of them being her own daughter Silverfur, seeing it as an opportunity to also spend time with her own kit while she had the chance. "Alright, let's get going." Lilystar spoke to her patrol, turning from the middle of the island camp and waving her tail as a signal to move, leading the small patrol out of camp and off down the river that made up much of their territory.
She led the patrol to a semi-marshy, semi-rocky place on the edge of one forested part of their territory, reeds covering along the marsh spot and meeting the river. It seemed a fitting spot to catch different types of prey and Lilystar was satisfied her patrol could do well. "We'll hunt here. If Soulclan sees favor today, we should have quite a catch this day." The medium silver furred she-cat said with great confidence, looking upon her patrol to see what they had to say.
Silverfur The young warrior couldn't contain her excitement as she followed her mother from camp, more than eager to get some hunting done rather than doing border patrols all the time. It seemed most of what she did any more or helping things inside camp a lot of the time. She was itching to do something more than just duties around and in camp, having felt the itching of her paws to run to the side of the river and fish or hunt among the reeds and drag a big bird of prey to camp for a feast. Finally, SIlverfur's prayers seemed to be answered as her mother called her for a hunting patrol with some others, casting a glance towards Troutspeck, her brother, who seemed to be waiting for another patrol. He merely dipped his head at them and she did so in return before following after her mother.
They trekked along until they came to the spot Lilystar felt fitting to hunt for the clan and she was relieved it wasn't in deep water or entirely the water itself. There was a mix of land and water to be used, something she was more than glad for as she gave the water a nervous glance, "We'll catch a feast fitting for two clan to eat!" Silverfur said with excitement, bouncing on her paws and eyes shining to show she was more than ready to start. ELMPAW
"And if I told you you were perfect, would you believe me? Because I don't believe you would." Elmpaw snuck past Troutspeck, the dark orange and white tabby's amber eyes never seeming to skim over her pale creme fur, her watchful silver-hued green eyes darting from her mentor to the entrance. She loved learning from her mentor, but she had been on far too many border patrols this moon, and was quite bored with the territory of the other clans touching theirs. Her long fur blew back in the breeze as she extended her long legs to slide silently out of camp, only slightly ruffling the reeds around the entrance, barely leaving a strand of her pale fur among the strands of the plants. She laughed giddily at her successful escape, and grinned, scampering after Silverfur's receding tail and scent. She tracked Silverfur and Lilystar from a safe distance until the two stopped, seemingly to talk to one another about hunting. At this, Elmpaw shed her usual shyness and boldly stepped from the bushes, her moon of training making her slightly more confident in her abilities to catch the voles and frogs scampering through the boggy territory."I-I've come to join the hunting patrol!" She squeaked at the two, trying to fluff out her fur to seem more like their size than the pitiful small size she herself was. Her soft, pretty pale fur frizzed everywhere, and her silvery green eyes shone in determination, steeling herself with any shred of her courage so that the two might not back her down and send her back to camp with her tail between her legs. She was slightly intimidated by not only Silverfur--a respected warrior in Pondclan, and Lilystar's daughter--but the leader Lilystar herself, and she found herself withering quickly, her courage wilting as fast as it came to her, leaving her to stutter the rest of her bold move out meekly."T-that i-is, if y-y-you'll allow m-me t-t-t-to." She stammered, tripping her words over her own tongue and internally screaming at herself in exasperation. They weren't going to rip her pelt off, for Soulclan's sake, the most she might get is a scolding, but the thought still made her ears slightly droop, and her paws carry her a step back in uncertainty.TAG: @tundra WORDS: 363 NOTES: OMG I love this girl so much XD

Lilystar The sudden voice of someone, a younger voice at that, speaking up made Lilystar look past her daughter and towards a familiar apprentice. It was Elmpaw, currently apprenticed to her own son. She knew the young apprentice and her brother well enough, mainly from all the gossip and rumors of their birth that had surrounded the clan for some time since it had proven to be one of the rare times an intermingling of the newer clans had really been discovered. Were there more? Perhaps, but it was not a matter she liked to make a publicity about and cause the young cats to lose any confidence in themselves like they had before. She had seen between the two Elmpaw seemed the most shy.
A soft smile showed on the older she-cats face, seeing that Elmpaw was already becoming nervous and losing the seeming new confidence she was gaining from training, "You are more than welcome to join us Elmpaw. We could use some extra paws right now, the fresh-kill pile needs some restocking." Lilystar assured her with a soothing purr, hoping to ease any worried thoughts the apprentice might have. Sure, she may be the leader but she didn't want any of her clanmates to feel like they couldn't ask her for anything or have to get permission for every little thing. Some things of course required permission, such as crossing to another clan for whatever reason, but something like a patrol was the least of her worries.
She then gestured with her tail, "Silverfur, why don't you take Elmpaw with you for a while. We'll meet back here at sunhigh." She told them.
Silverfur The young warrior was surprised to hear Elmpaw, mainly because she nor her mother hadn't heard the younger she-cat following them the entire time. "You followed us without us even knowing you were there, you're definitely improving already Elmpaw!" Silvefur couldn't help complimenting when her mother had been done assuring Elmpaw that she was fine in joining them.
Sometimes she did wonder if Elmpaw was learning anything when it came to her own brother. Troutspeck wasn't exactly the most active cat, knowing he could be rather lazy and drag his paws rather than doing something almost immediately compared to herself or their mother. But from how things were looking maybe she had underestimated her brother's mentoring capabilities. Silverfur sometimes had wondered if her mother had paired the two to teach Troutspeck some meaning of greater responsibility and maybe for Troutspeck to teach Elmpaw some greater need in confidence and trying things regardless. From an outside perspective, Silverfur could see some reflection of her brother in Elmpaw but she seemed a lot more active and willing to do things rather than laze around camp. But Troutspeck had seemed willing to do something today since she saw him before they had left.
She turned to her mother though when she spoke, giving a soft nod in response. "Sure thing Lilystar." She spoke, watching her mother turn and head towards the marsh among the reeds, her whiskers twitching in discomfort at the thought of putting her paws in the murky water. "Come on." Silverfur motioned with her ears for Elmpaw to follow, trotting off towards a more wooded spot but still allowing for the option for Elmpaw to hunt in water if she preferred. Luckily, Silverfur could see it was rather shallow and maybe would go no closer than just brushing her belly fur which was some relief. "Here seems good."
Silverfur paused at the edge, watching some faint shadows beneath the surface, confirming they could fish here perhaps without problems. "So you managed to get past my brother huh? We'll make a warrior out of you yet." The silver tabby she-cat purred, carefully wading into the shallows of the river in preparation to fish. Tags: 《∞♛𝕟𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖♛∞》™ Notes: XD I feel for her so much

ELMPAW
"And if I told you you were perfect, would you believe me? Because I don't believe you would." Elmpaw's chest puffed out slightly with pride as she allowed her fur to lie flat. Trotting after her mentor's sister, she soaked in the praise, nodding happily as they headed to a dryer spot of the territory. Secretly, Elmpaw was relieved that Silverfur had chosen a dryer spot. She wasn't sure her long pale fur would handle muddy water very well, and she sure didn't want mats everywhere just from hunting. The apprentice chuckled shyly at the last statement made by the older shecat. It actually hadn't been that hard to slide past the lazy orange tom, but she didn't want his sister to know that he still wasn't really doing much in regards to her training other than taking her on the random border patrol. Oftentimes Elmpaw stuck with Wasppaw when he trained, and that's where she gained most of her skills. Still, Troutspeck was kind and had a big heart, often sitting her down in camp to tell her stories or explain a concept she was struggling to grasp in a lesson she had gone to, so he was doing a lot of work for her."Y-y-yeah, Troutspeck is pretty hard to slide by, even if he's sleeping! B-but, he doesn't usually take me hunting, it's usually border patrols.. Which aren't b-bad. or anything! I j-just.. they're t-tiring, so I figured the most I would get from trying to join L-lilystar's patrol was a scolding and sent back to c-c-camp, so it was worth a s-shot." She stammered, mentally scolding herself again for stumbling over what she had decided to say, and going with half a truth. Most of that statement was true, except the part with Troutspeck being hard to slip by. She found him easily avoidable, and, even in the odd times he would catch her sneaking around, he usually had no issues with her doing anything. If she was honest with herself, she liked the freedom, and she couldn't help but thinking he was mentoring her that way for more reasons than he was too lazy to get up and take her around a lot like other mentors did.
Watching Silverfur wade into the belly-deep water--which would be about chest to neck high for the much smaller apprentice, Elmpaw flicked her ears up to observe for a second, before slipping into some undergrowth nearby as quietly as her paws would carry her, searching for a vole or two. She figured she would at least aid the patrol now, since they had decided to accept her request to take her along with them.TAG: @tundra WORDS: 427 NOTES: I adore her tbh.
