Robinleaf had just stepped from the thin bush that covered the underground cave that made up the Lightningclan warrior's den. She had just stepped outside when she spotted the newly named leader, Spiderstar, under the Lightning Log that wasnt 30 mouselengths away. Curious, since she hadn't met the tom yet, she picked her way across the clan to greet him, her bengal tabby pelt shining in the early morning light as she let out a yawn halfway across to Spiderstar. "Hello, Spiderstar, I'm Robinleaf. How are you?" The she called semi-softly, not wanting to wake the whole clan and those next to them just in her attempt to gain her leader's attention. She slowed her pace when she drew close, and settled down nearby, waiting to see if she had effectively gained his attention with her attempt. She was genuinely curious about the tom who had stormed into their clan and taken the leadership they so desperately needed filled, and she wondered if she would be able to effectively get to know him.

"Hello, Spiderstar, I'm Robinleaf. How are you?"
The large, calico tom whipped his head around at the sound of a voice. One of his warriors, a she-cat he hadn't yet become acquainted with, had settled nearby. She called herself 'Robinleaf' in her greeting. With a rather annoyed huff the newly appointed leader slunk from beneath the Lightning Log. Upon rising to his full, formidable height, the feline arched his back in a stretch. A yawn escaped his loosely held maw, exposing yellowed fangs. His yellowed optics briefly closed and his claws slid silently from their sheaths to gouge the earth. He took his time in the stretch, making the she-cat wait until he was ready to respond. The warriors were inferior to him and must learn it sooner or later. Though he wasn't a merciful cat, Spiderstar would rather it didn't come to violence. "I am as well as can be expected." The irritable response slid smoothly off his tongue like a snakes venom drops from his fang. Spiderstar glanced around the camp casually before returning his sharp gaze to Robinleaf's. With a seconds contemplation, the leader decide to ask, "what brings you over at this early time?" Addressed: Robinleaf ( 《∞♛𝕟𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖♛∞》™) Mentioned: N/A Notes: He's a bit grouchy in the mornings  |

"what brings you over at this early time?"
The Shecat's mouth twitched up into a smirk as she observed the tom's straightened posture and watched him find things to occupy himself so he didn't nee to reply right away. Two could play at that game. She flicked her long tail slowly, and reached around to lick her shoulder gently in long, slow strokes, taking her time in her relaxed movements, and stalling her own amused reply.
"Oh, nothing, really. Just thought I'd meet the cat that would be commanding me and my sweet dear brother in the near future"
The shecat let out a soft chuckle, flicking her pale green orbs to meet Spiderstar's yellow ones, hers showing not a trace of fear for the cat in front of her, despite his attempts to make himself seem that much farther above her. Everycat had demons in their closet, and hers were certainty not some to be messed with. The leader's threats wouldn't work on her. She knew how to dance the dance, and walk the walk, and she refused to be trodden on, leader or not.
"We haven't been properly introduced, mostly. I was coming over to see if you needed... tending to, my most noble leader."
She added, pausing on the last part for just a hairs breath before continuing, her sly smile, which was attempting to cover the trace of sarcasm she had slipped into her last comment, was still plastered across her lips which were covering her own set of fangs. The kind shecat didn't like to be messed with, but she was never out-rightly aggressive.
Especially to her dear leader.

"Oh, nothing, really. Just thought I'd meet the cat that would be commanding me and my sweet dear brother in the near future. We haven't been properly introduced, mostly. I was coming over to see if you needed... tending to, my most noble leader."He jerked his yellow optics back up to her green ones, his own narrowed in displeasure. How dare she address him in that manner! He deserved more respect from a mere warrior than she was displaying. His displeasure disappeared almost as quickly as it had come and he gave her a small smile with a chilling edge. Spiderstar was nothing if not silver-tongued and resourceful. He had always been able to manipulate the ones he needed. But Robinleaf, Robinleaf didn't seem like she would be so easily subdued. 'Good.... I enjoy a challenge.'
He gave his tail a small flick before addressing her again, "I do not need tending to." He brushed past her on silent paws, tail flicking rhythmically. "But thank you anyway!" His tone was mocking and I hint of laughter could be heard beneath his words. There was something rather intriguing about this she-cat. Her sly smile had lit something inside of him. She seemed willing to get her paws dirty. She would come in useful in the future. But.... he would need her to be more co-operative for that. Spiderstar didn't think violence would be necessary to get her submissive but he never knew. She could be unpredictable and that was something he didn't want to risk. Besides, if there was an easier way out, why not take it? A chilling look crossed his hardened features briefly before he turn back to face her, all traces of the look evaporating. "Would you like to get some fresh-kill with me? I would be delighted to get to know you better." Each word feel from his tongue as smoothly as a snakes poison seeps into his victim. "Would you like to get some fresh-kill with me? I would be delighted to get to know you better."
The shecat slid her gaze with the retreating tom as the leader silently rose to his paws and left her side. She was slightly surprised when he turned back to her with his stiffened shoulders relaxed, and offered her something that seemed not quite right, but not that off. The once-aggressive tom's sweetened manner set alarm bells ringing in her head, and she threw up a defense quickly. She was not going to be manipulated. She might have to live with this tom, and regard him as her leader, but she refused to be an... an... item in one of his silly little games.
She smiled a sickly sweet smile back, one that made her pale orbs close and her cheeks stretch wide, still not revealing her teeth, and slowly rose to her own paws, taking careful steps after the tortie tom that had moved away beforehand.
"Why, how could I refuse such a kind, and generous offer from my leader, Spiderstar? Of course I'll join you for a bite, I was getting peckish in the midst of our... engaging little bout."
She spoke with honey-coated words, flicking her feathery tail under his nose as she passed him and padded towards the fresh-kill pile. The lithe shecat kept her balance impeccably perfect, even in just a simple walk across camp. Her muscles were all ready and at her command, and her speech was as wily and smooth as a fox in cat's 'guise. She kept her flaws well hidden, her secrets tightly guarded in a tiny little box within her, the key thrown away moons ago.
And, if this tom thought he could succeed where so many others had faltered and failed, let him fight through the Darklands and come get it.
The shecat selected a large bird for the two to share, a crow, and moved back again to settle near the dark-pelted leader, using a perfectly sharpened pale claw to cut open the breast of the bird and make sure it was still edible. When nothing but meat and blood was revealed, she rose her green orbs to meet his yellow ones in a sort of challenge, her smile never leaving, but her guard not slackening either.

His annoyance that she was leading him was well concealed. "So glad you agree.." He mused in a quiet tone. Robinleaf selected a large crow from the pile and bring it back to where he had settled just a few mouse lengths behind her. She turned her green optics up to meet his yellow ones with a strange smile plastered across her features. He almost scuffed allowed as he realized she was challenging him in this way. It was as if she was daring him to open her up and extract her secrets fro her very core. A smile flickered across his hardened features briefly before he settled into a crouch beside her. 'This should be fun..'
His battered tail briefly coiled along her spine as he lowered his muzzle to inhale the scent of fresh-kill from the wound she had created. "My favorite.. Crow has always been a rather acquired taste of mine." He commented, sinking his yellowed fangs into the breast of the animal, taking as large a bite as he could before taking another one. Both bites were fairly large and would leave the she-cat with less choicer bits. Spiderstar turned icy eyes on the she-cat, waiting for her response. The shecat watched the child-like actions with amused eyes, before standing daintily and snagging herself a mouse from the top of the pile, the freshest one she could find. She settled near the tom again and cut the mouse with her claw again, once again checking for poison or rot, and was satisfied when red meat showed, and the smell of freshly-killed prey wafted out. She sank her teeth in the meat, chewing thoughtfully and observing Spiderstar with cold green orbs, not giving anything away.
"You simply said eat with you, not eat the same prey as you. Luckily I caught enough for both of us this morning."
She said, gently flicking her pink tongue across her lips which were stained red with the mouse's blood. She finished off the prey in three or four more swift bites, and settled back on her hunches, cleaning slowly between her long, pale claws and washing any trace of the mouse from her fur. She was observing her leader through icy green orbs the entire time, gauging how he would react to her quick thinking and thoughtful reply to his quip.
I suppose he figured I was too dumb to predict how he could possibly act.
She thought to herself, amusement making her veins warm and her pelt prickle. However, she kept careful control over her eyes, and made sure they gave nothing away. This was give and take, and Spiderstar needed to learn that quickly if he was to survive this little challenge with her without bruising his own massive ego.

Luckily I caught enough for both of us this morning."A dark chuckle was just audible as the large tom lowered his muzzle to the crow and took another bite. This she-cat was amusing. Not many would dare be this feisty when Spiderstar was involved. It made a nice change in his opinion, a nice challenge. "No indeed I did not. You are lucky you caught enough, otherwise you would just be standing there watching me eat, wouldn't you?" His tone was deep and his yellow eyes held a sly glint. He hardly cared if his warriors had enough to eat as long as he did. Of course he couldn't starve them, he couldn't defend the clan alone, but he could let them get hungry for his own sake. He felt no guilt for his thoughts as he took another bite. It had always been his way of thinking, or, at least, he had been taught it at a very early age. His father had always enforced the rule that the leader ate first, in that case him. Now he was dead by Spiderstar's own doing and he himself was leader of a great clan. He hated his father but there was, to a certain extent, admiration for him as well. He had been strong, merciless, pitiless. He hadn't feared taking what he wanted even at the cost of another. A small smile crossed his features briefly. He would follow Horace's example,just not in the way his father would have expected from his son. Spiderstar quickly finished the bird and stood slowly for another luxurious stretch. "Funny how words can be manipulated, isn't it? Just a simple slip of the tongue could mean a binding loyalty to another, or your demise," his words were softly spoken and not directly to the she-cat. He seemed to be musing to himself but the underlying threat in his words maddest clear he wasn't. "I should be careful if I were you. You don't want to go around with such a loose tongue as you already have." "Funny how words can be manipulated, isn't it? Just a simple slip of the tongue could mean a binding loyalty to another, or your demise. I should be careful if I were you. You don't want to go around with such a loose tongue as you already have."
The shecat flashed another eye-closing smile and rolled her eyes underneath her lids.
"No, Spiderstar. Had there been not enough, I'd have taken the first bite. I retrieved the crow, no? I didn't have to let you have the first taste"
Her tone was sarcastis, yet serious and cold at the same time. She didn't like idle threats and empty promises, and the tom threatening her with the past made her pelt prickle in irritation. Her anger didn't show on the outside, however, so those around her were none the wiser. When the leader had started leaving, she got up, refusing to let the leader leave without her getting her piece in on his last little comments.
"Yes, humorous indeed, Spiderstar. It's also funny how, when presented with a certain situation, one doesn't have to use words to show how vicious and unforgiving loyalty and a fearless tongue can be? Such a pity shecats are born with claws and fangs, isn't it, Spiderstar? Surely you don't know this personally, however; otherwise you wouldn't be so defenseless around me, always turning your back and confidently stacking yourself on top of me. Not wise, a pretty shecat can be your greatest ally, or your most feared enemy. And I'm certainty not a stainless soul myself."
She brushed past the leader after closing her mouth, anger boiling in her veins, but her exterior seeming impossibly calm and smug. She flicked his ear on her way by with her feathery tail, before slipping into the territory once more, intent on replacing the little bit of prey that had, in her opinion, been wasted feeding a greedy, childish cat she was forced to call her leader.
What Spiderstar didn't know was that Robinleaf held more power over her fellow warriors than he knew, and she could easily sway them to her side if needed. After all, she had been raised here, growing up with these cats and gaining their trust for moons, while he had only just arrived.
